ONINO Year 2025 Recap - by Alexandre Lehr

As the year comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on 2025 at ONINO. It was an important year for us, not because of one single milestone, but because so many different pieces came together. If you’re interested in what we’ve been building behind the scenes, here’s a short recap.

2025 was a year of team growth.

We grew to a team of seven: Kristina, Justin, Lucca, Erdal, Kai, Lukas, and myself. Every single one of them played a key role in getting us to where we are today, and I’m incredibly grateful to be building ONINO together with this team.

2025 was a year of product development.

ONINO originally started with a simple ambition: to use blockchain technology to create real value. Over time, we found that this value lies in tokenization, specifically in building a tokenized financing infrastructure that actually solves a real problem.

With the ONINO Tokenized Financing Platform, we’re working to close the financing gap between banks and venture capital. We’re starting in Europe, helping SMEs finance innovation through white-label platforms that we provide to existing ecosystems, investor groups, and company networks.

In April, we launched the ONINO Blockchain.

In October, we launched the ONINO Tokenized Financing Platform.

Together, these launches completed what we now call the ONINO ecosystem.

2025 was also a year of a big strategic funding round.

Although we never publicly announced it (we generally prefer doing over talking), we closed our first major “traditional” strategic financing round in early 2025.

We’re very happy to welcome BLACKVRST (Johannes Weide), Alexander Raiff, Stefan Klocke, and Carsten Klocke as new strategic investors. At the same time, our long-time business angels Michael Becker, Bernd Vermaaten, and Ulf Ritz also joined the round.

Thank you for the trust and the continued support, it means a lot!

2025 was a year full of events and travel.

We started in January with the KIT Innovators Homecoming (KIT Gründerschmiede), which was a great signal of how strongly KIT is starting to support its startup and alumni ecosystem. We’ll be back at the next Homecoming on 29.01.2026 — and yes, we’ll have a big announcement to share there.

February took Justin and me to NFT Paris. After all the hype we had heard (especially after Paris Blockchain Week 2024), we were honestly a bit disappointed by the conference itself, but we did enjoy two productive days in cafés of Paris and an unexpected Valentine’s Day bromance.

March was intense. As part of the German delegation with Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i), the ONINO founders (Kai, Lukas, and I) went to SXSW. We combined it with visits to Las Vegas and Silicon Valley and got a firsthand look at the US startup ecosystem, including a reminder that “Made in Germany” doesn’t only come with disadvantages (even though, let’s be honest, it comes with a few). SXSW itself was one of the most creative and inspiring conferences we’ve ever attended.

Also in March, we joined START Summit in St. Gallen, bringing together startups and innovators from across DACH and Europe.

In May, we attended Token2049 in Dubai. After Singapore in 2024, it was interesting to compare. While Dubai was great, we’ll likely be heading back to Singapore next time.

The year continued with ETHCC Cannes in July, Bits & Pretzels in Munich in September, and then three major events in November: Web Summit Lisbon (as part of the German delegation, alongside 70,000+ attendees) and Slush Helsinki, which quickly became one of our favorite European startup conferences.

We were also very happy to get nominated as one of five startups for the “Cyberchampions Award” by the Cyberforum - and we even won the 1st place for the audience price!

2025 was also a year of major customer projects.

In previous years, our focus was mainly on building the technology and getting the processes right, often working on individual tokenization use cases. In 2025, we opened a new chapter with ONINO’s white-label platforms.

Not all projects are public yet, so I’ll keep this high-level, but this year we worked on white-label platforms in areas like:

  • Real estate tokenization
  • Music and film financing
  • Banking use cases
  • Fund and SPV structuring
  • University alumni investment platforms
  • Startup network investment platforms

Looking back, 2025 was an amazing year.

And honestly, 2026 feels even more exciting.

We laid the foundation this year, and in the years before. Now that we’re fully out there, the hard work will start to show results: more white-label platforms going live, new markets, a growing team, and a lot more that we’ll share when the time is right.

Thanks to everyone who has been part of this journey so far.

I’m very much looking forward to what’s next.
